Terms of use

In effect from 2 September 2026 · ArenaGauge, published by Charlotte Walsh, Melbourne, Victoria

1. Who these terms are with

This site is published by an individual, Charlotte Walsh, of 8 Rankins Ln, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia, telephone +61 412 912 001, e-mail desk@arenagauge.com. In these terms, "the publisher" means her and "the site" means arenagauge.com and all its pages.

Reading the site means you accept these terms; if you do not, please stop using it.

2. What the site is

ArenaGauge is an independent editorial publication about free mobile match-3 puzzle games built around sweets: observations about how they play, a comparison table, and the paid monthly subscription in section 6.

The site does not distribute, host, sell, licence or unlock any game, and holds no accounts. Every mention of an app links to its Google Play listing, where it is obtained from its developer under that developer's terms.

3. No affiliation

The publisher has no commercial, contractual or employment relationship with the developers of the applications written about here, and none with Google LLC. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Application names, icons and screenshots belong to their owners; using them here identifies the product written about and implies no endorsement.

4. Intellectual property

The written entries, the comparison table, the ArenaGauge name and its wordmark are the publisher's own work, protected by the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). You may quote a short passage for criticism, comment or study if you name ArenaGauge and link to the page; republishing a whole entry, or building a derivative site from it, requires written permission.

Screenshots and application icons remain their developers' property, reproduced under the fair dealing provisions of that Act for criticism and comment. A rights holder who objects to an image should write to section 1; it is taken down while the objection is considered.

5. Accuracy of what is published

Entries describe what happened on one handset, over one fortnight, in the hands of one person. Applications change without notice and store ratings move daily; figures from Google Play are correct for the Australian listing on the date beside them. If you spot something wrong, write to the desk and it will be corrected or marked out of date.

6. The Gauge Notebook subscription

6.1 What it is and what it costs

The Gauge Notebook is a monthly publication sent by e-mail: puzzle levels and board concepts designed by the publisher, with step-by-step guides, booster schematics and stage diagrams. It costs A$0.90 per month, charged in advance, with no minimum term and no joining charge.

6.2 How a subscription starts

You subscribe by writing to the desk from the address the issues should go to; the publisher replies with the payment details and the price. Nothing is charged until you act on that reply — the site has no checkout, no card fields and no form. The first issue follows within seven days of the first payment clearing.

6.3 Cancelling

You may cancel at any time, with no reason and no charge, by replying to any issue with the word cancel or by writing to the address in section 1. The subscription ends at the close of the month already paid for. Cancellation is confirmed in writing within five working days.

6.4 Consumer guarantees

The Australian Consumer Law, in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), applies to the subscription and gives you guarantees these terms cannot exclude, restrict or modify: the service must be supplied with due care and skill and be fit for the purpose described here. If it fails a guarantee you are entitled to a remedy — a re-supply of the affected issues, or a refund where the failure is major. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission publishes information about these rights at www.accc.gov.au.

6.5 Changes to the price

Any change to the price is announced in an issue at least one full month before it applies, and takes effect only for the months that follow. Cancelling under section 6.3 beforehand costs nothing.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to interfere with the site's delivery, not to run automated tools against it at a rate that degrades it for others, and not to present this material as your own.

8. Availability and disclaimer

The site is provided as it stands. Hosting and connectivity depend on third parties, so uninterrupted availability is not promised. To the extent permitted by law, and without limiting section 6.4, no warranty is given that the content is complete, current or error-free.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right or remedy under a law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, the publisher's liability for any claim connected with the site or the subscription is limited, at her option, to re-supplying the affected issues or refunding what you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Raising a problem before going to court

Write to desk@arenagauge.com setting out what happened and the outcome you want; a written answer is sent within thirty days. Both sides agree to try to settle in that correspondence, and to consider a low-cost service such as Consumer Affairs Victoria before starting proceedings.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria and the applicable law of the Commonwealth of Australia. You and the publisher submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the site or the subscription changes; the date at the top shows when the current version took effect, and a change affecting the subscription is announced in an issue beforehand.
